# How to import contacts?
## Improve the organization and management of your Customer Database.
Once you have purchased credits, you can import your contacts into your smsmode© account. This can be accomplished by downloading an Excel or CSV file or by manually entering the phone numbers of the people you wish to contact.
It is important to note that sending messages does not require contact management, although we do offer an address book management feature as an additional option. The responsibility for managing the address book rests with the customer.
**Here are some recommended security measures:**
According to the provisions of the GDPR, it is mandatory to obtain the recipient's prior consent before making any SMS communication for prospective purposes. This consent must be given voluntarily, specifically and knowingly, and must be obtained through an affirmative action, such as ticking a checkbox.
